Jurnee Coker, MHC-Intern
About
I am Jurnee Coker, a passionate counseling intern working both in-person and via telehealth with those in the NY state. I am dedicated to empowering individuals on their journey towards emotional well-being and personal growth.
My interest lies in integrating various therapeutic modalities while specializing in psychodynamic theories to help clients explore the depths of their emotions and experiences. I bring a compassionate and non-judgmental attitude to every session, aiming to create a safe space where clients feel heard and supported.
My approach is leaning towards Client-Centered Therapy, focusing on understanding their unique perspectives and fostering a therapeutic alliance built on trust and empathy. I am committed to continuous learning and professional development throughout my internship, eagerly exploring new techniques and insights to serve my clients better. I believe in self-exploration and introspection as catalysts for healing and growth as an individual.
I am currently pursuing my Ed.M. in Mental Health Counseling and M.A in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University.
