About

Hi, I’m Jill and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Trauma-Focused Therapy for adults aged 18-80. My areas of focus include individual therapy and group therapy. I specialize in working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, women’s health, anger management, family issues, panic disorder, phobias, self-esteem issues, and LGBTQ+ identity and sexual exploration. I am also passionate about working with clients to explore their nutrition and its impact on both physical and mental health and am currently pursuing an Integrative Health and Wellness certification.

I have 2 years of mindfulness meditation teacher training, 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) as well as a background in massage therapy and polarity therapy. I think outside of the box with my clients to help them relax, tune into their bodies and increase access to their thinking minds.

I would describe my approach to be calm and collaborative through my integration of CBT with mindfulness and meditation techniques, breath-work and yoga that is modified for each individual’s specific body and current state of being. I have found this approach to be an effective tool at reducing stress, anxiety and improving overall well-being with my clients. While encouraging present-moment awareness and self-reflection, I also help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and healthier coping strategies. My aim is to integrate mind-body techniques into my client’s daily lives, fostering a greater sense of balance and personal growth.

Currently, I am also exploring Yoga Nidra Teacher Training and its benefits for promoting relaxation and activating deep rest. I am also drawn to the practice of sensorimotor psychotherapy, which highlights the impact of physical experiences and sensations on our thoughts and emotions. This is often used to treat trauma-related disorders as well as other mental health conditions.

My primary core value is compassion; compassion means that we put everything aside to really sit with another person while they are suffering and do our best to understand the suffering. Within the therapeutic space, we will create an environment that is compassionate, safe, and non judgemental.
