About
As a licensed psychotherapist in NY, NJ, GA, CT, and NM, with a Master’s degree in Social Work, my approach is client-centered and holistically focused, encouraging clients to leverage their strengths to achieve mind-body balance through various modalities. I draw from Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, the Seeking Safety model, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
With years of experience in the field, I have worked with diverse populations, addressing a wide range of mental health issues. I typically work with young and middle-aged adults, experiencing life changes including transitioning into a new job, relationship difficulties and grief/loss. I also work with those who are struggling with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), substance use and sobriety, ADHD, self-esteem issues, BIPOC-specific concerns, anxiety, health issues and stress management. In addition to individual therapy, I also engage in couples therapy and have worked in mindfulness-based group therapy. I enjoy working with couples to help them face their difficulties as a team and use techniques from sex therapy to help each individual feel comfortable with their body.
I have worked with individuals who have experienced intergenerational trauma and helped them to build up the confidence to touch on generational issues that have been challenging them. I hope to provide insight to these clients on how their experiences have led them to where they are today and help those who want to end the cycle of generational trauma.
Using Mindfulness-Based Therapy, I integrate mindfulness practices to enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation. I believe in getting up and moving the body within therapy and often encourage my clients to engage in techniques that get them to move around, building and practicing skills that we can use in our daily lives.
My personal experiences and ability to foster a compassionate environment helps me to work with my clients to build a collaborative partnership, working alongside clients as equal partners in their therapeutic journey, emphasizing cooperation over direction. I want to help my clients create a life worth living, supporting them in their journey towards mental well-being and personal growth. I value laughter and genuineness within therapy and I hope that every client will end the session feeling a little lighter and more confident to have a successful day. Remember you are 1 of 1!
